Eureka – A Long and Proud History
Eureka has been a trusted partner in Norway’s offshore energy journey from the start—continuously evolving to deliver specialized solutions for today’s offshore energy companies.
1898
1898 Eureka Mekaniske Verksted AS established.

1901
Started the production of steam driven piston pumps.
1903
Started the production of ship engines.
1961
Eureka starts with centrifugal pumps.
1968
Eureka merges with Kværner – common interest in the marine market.
1969
Eureka merges with Thune under new name Thune-Eureka.
1976
Thune- Eureka starts to develop API 610 pumps for the oil& gas industry.
1987
Thune-Eureka changes the name to Kværner Eureka.
2004
The listed company Bjørge acquires the pump distributor company EPTEC and opens a service facility for pumps in Tananger.
2007
Bjørge acquires the Eureka topsides pumps division from Aker Kværner Subsea and starts pump & genset production at Sørumsand outside Oslo with engineering at Lysaker.
2008
Opening engineering office in Zenica
In 2008, Eureka opened an engineering office in Zenica, partnering with a local firm to hire engineers. This collaboration led to the establishment of Eureka Pumps D.o.o in 2012. To attract top talent, the company worked closely with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica. Over time, the office became an integral part of the Fornebu engineering group.
2010
Aker / Hitec Vision buys Bjørge Group including Eureka Pumps AS
2022
Advancing in Renewable Energy
Eureka secures first contract within the renewables segment and is well positioned for further growth.
2024
Techouse Group Takes Over
Techouse Group acquires Eureka Group AS, ushering in a new chapter in the company’s development.
